I have been looking for something like this for years. I teach art at the high school level and I like to replace just what is used up so I can buy bigger boxed sets for my students to ge the variety and I can't afford to get them every year! I'm so glad that liked this!
And I am so glad they sell them individually too :. This was just shat I needed shen I googled to find the complete list of colors. I'm not sure I understand your question. At first I tried their 24 pencil set, made a good red orange yellow mandala with that, then their 72 pencil set, but it did not have enough blues and greens to suit me.
So far I really like the prismacolor, their soft cores help me learn how to blend. Yes,getting a complete set depends on what type you buy. For the Prismacolors, is the oomplete set. Search Prismacolor Premier. Price varies by retailer. For other brands, you will have to do the research yourself, as I do not know how many colors are made by other brands. Usually you can buy the colored pencils in various sets or by individual pencils.
Some brands are not sold in open stock individual pencils. Thank you Jenny for this. It is very helpful. It's especially great to have it all spelled out so I can adapt this for my own purposes.
Fantastic work. Thank you for compiling this list. The Scholar Erasable series is made for beginner artists with a strong core which prevents breakage. Other than that, qualities are very much like the Col-Erase pencils.

Great information…I am heading out the door to shop shop shop for several of these sets while my billfold screams STOP. Color on my friends, color on….. I would like to have colored pencils that you can color one color then draw a line or shade it in with another color that will show up on the bottom color.

You certainly can layer one color on top of another and use a colorless blender to aid in blending the two colors. In reviewing the Prismacolor pencils, for example, neon colors are only in the set of colors.
Pastel colors are in just about every set we have. We have not seen actual glitter pencils, but you could layer products such as gelly roll stardust from Sakura and receive that glitter effect you are looking for.
