You can use almost all Sizzix dies and embossing folders in the cuttlebug. The only And if you have the 12 inch platform you can use the long border dies. You can also use the regular Nestabilities dies. Embossing folders are used in the Cricut Cuttlebug machine to add 3D texture to craft projects.
They are plastic folders with various unique designs on them. Once the embossing process is over, you can then find the same design, which was on the embossing folder on your Cricut cardstock or other various materials. While embossing machines are marketed to be used brand specifically, all those QuicKutz and Revolution dies and embossers are completely compatible with a Cuttlebug embossing machine.
The Cricut Cuttlebug is a manual read: no plugs, no internet, no electricity…just good 'ol fashioned elbow grease die cutting machine that allows you to cut precise shapes from a variety of materials like paper, cardstock, felt, chipboard, fabric and leather… yeah, you heard me… leather. With both machines, you can cut a variety of materials from thin foam to chipboard. For more creative possibilities, the Big Shot Express and Vagabond 2 are compatible with the entire Sizzix product library with the exception of Bigz Plus and Bigz Pro dies.
The opening of the Big Shot is ever so slightly larger so use them since you have a supply. You may have to add shims to some of your sandwiches but so what. Actually you can use all Spellbinder dies in the Big Shot with the plates that come with the machine, no need to get anything extra. The only exception being a couple of the very largest of the Grand Nesties, which don't fit. Any of them will work in your cuttlebug but becareful because Darice makes a 5X7 folder which will not fit in the cuttlebug.
